| Not quite as good as Class 20 or 37 locos but at least there was something decent to ride around the Southern on and they usually made enough noise in the motor coach to keep most of us happy. Fortunately quite a few have gone to preserved railways and I eagerly await a chance to have a ride on one over the Norh Yorkshire Moors. Unfortunately I never took a picture of one passing Shepreth Branch Junction in May 1978 (Visiting Spalding for the Flower Festival) because I had to attend to my signalling duties.... |
